Special Anniversary

I have had the pleasure of knowing a lot of good people in my life.  Little did I know that on January 20, 2001 I would have a meeting with the most incredible person I had or will ever know.  That meeting changed my life.  In over a year we were engaged, and on June 21, 2003, we were married.

Dana Elizabeth Dally Wilson is one of those people who, when a person first meets them, instantly likes her.  Her eyes are engaging and her smile is warm.  She has a laugh that makes you smile everytime.  She is transparent; she seems very caring and compassionate beacuse that is the core of her soul.  She is spirited and fun, but smart and thoughtful too.  On that snowy January day in Morgantown, I instantly not only liked her, but fell in love with her.

Like all marriages, we have times of struggles.  I’m an orderly Type A personality (neat freak) while she is a laid back Type B (“What mess?”), meaning we have a couple differences of opinions on a few things.  However, we both honor our committment to each each, and the committment we made to God.  We each have bad days and moments of aggrevation, but we get through them and move on together; we move on stronger.

We just celebrated our 10-year wedding anniversary.  My parents watched our beautiful kids while we went to Savannah, Georgia and Hilton Head Island for a getaway.  Despite me eating way too many shrimp and grits, it was an amazing trip.  We reflected on our time together, and shared our hopes for the next 10 years.  I am so thankful that God placed this beautiful woman upstairs from me in apartment 7, and gave me the courage to ask her to help me fix my Jeep on that snowy night.

Happy anniversary, Dana.  I love you.

Rob, I just wanted to let you know that I’m very thankful for your mom and dad. They have been the trustiest of neighbors. During my dad’s illness and his death they were there for my family and I can’t tell you how much that meant to us. You don’t find neighbors like those that live on Ruby St. I will continue to pray for them both as your dad continues to improve. If there is ever anything that we can do to help them, please do not hesitate to let us know. May God continue to bless you and your family.
    Scarlett
